Legal Videography
Legal video
has expanded exponentially as attorneys have seen what a proven,
powerful tool video evidence can be. Today, lawyers increasingly
call on videographers to assist with their cases in a multitude of
ways.
Digital video reporting is provided by our certified and expert
legal videographers who specialize in legal videography. Because of
their extensive knowledge of legal procedures, our video technicians
assure complete dependability and accuracy in this highly technical
area of reporting.
Nonverbal messages make up the majority of human communication; most
of which is communicated through body language and tone of voice. We
predominately base our feelings and emotional responses not on what
a person says, but more so on what a person does. It is behavior,
other than the spoken or written word, which creates and represents
the true meaning; that is why seeing the deponent during the
deposition is so imperative.
With in-house processing, our technicians
provide professional and consistent service, coupled with technical
support post-production. Using the most advanced technology, our
experienced legal videographers deliver your deposition in any media
format, including CD, DVD, iPod, VHS and direct hard-drive deposit;
this gives you access anywhere, anytime. In addition,
high-resolution digital imaging takes video depositions to the next
level. Video and voice files are provided in a format playable on
any home or office computer, including mobile devices.

Electronic Trial Presentations
A study performed by the U.S. Department of Justice indicates
that electronic presentations expedite trials.
Silver Lining Videography uses an award winning software
application utilizing Video to Text Synchronization
that allows trial attorneys to enter into courtroom proceedings
organized, polished, and confident.
Video to Text Synchronization:
The process of aligning the digital video converted from tape to
the court reporters ASCII transcript. When a digital video file
is synchronized to the transcript one can instantly specify a
particular video clip simply by inputting a page and line number
from the transcript and/or 'cue' or jump to a specific portion
of a video deposition by simply referencing a page and line
number of text within a transcript.
Industrial/Commercial Services
Industrial
It
is a violation of Federal law for anyone UNDER 18 years of age
to operate a forklift or for anyone OVER 18 years of age who is
not properly trained and certified to do so.
Each
year, tens of thousands of injuries related to powered
industrial trucks (PIT), or forklifts, occur in US workplaces.
Many employees are injured when lift trucks are inadvertently
driven off loading docks, lifts fall between docks and an
unsecured trailer, they are struck by a lift truck, or when they
fall while on elevated pallets and tines. Most incidents also
involve property damage, including damage to overhead
sprinklers, racking, pipes, walls, and machinery. Unfortunately,
most employee injuries and property damage can be attributed to
lack of safe operating procedures, lack of safety-rule
enforcement, and insufficient or inadequate training.
Commercial
Large
trucks are defined as having a gross vehicle weight rating
greater than 10,000 pounds. Semi-trucks, tractor trailers and
big rigs are typically 66-74 feet long and usually weigh around
80,000 pounds. Consumer vehicles, such as cars, trucks and SUVs,
weigh considerably less, 2500-6500 pounds.
There are many factors that may contribute to large truck
accidents. As in all motor-vehicle accident cases, it is
essential that measures be taken to promptly preserve evidence.
Activities Of Daily Living
Silver
Lining Videography will record the individual in such a way that
will allow the jury to see and understand how the injuries have
affected the client in doing their activities of daily
living. The needs of the injured are always a priority and
given full attention.
Activities of daily living (ADLs)
are the things we normally do in daily living including any
daily activity we perform for self-care. They usually include:
| Feeding |
Toileting |
| Dressing |
Walking |
| Transferring |
Bathing |
There is another group of tasks identified by professionals that
is more comprehensive than Activities of Daily Living. These
tasks are called Instrumental Activities of Daily Living.
They include:
| Using the telephone |
Housework |
| Getting to places
beyond walking distance |
Laundry |
| Grocery shopping |
Taking medications |
| Preparing meals |
Money (managing) |
Construction Site Survey
Silver Lining Videography will work with you to preserve your
immobile evidence. A video site inspection will show the jury
what cannot be explained in words and may avoid a field trip to
the work site or accident scene.
Video Duplication
Silver Lining Videography can provide high quality videotape
duplication as well as duplication to DVD+R/DVD-R and CD’s.
(mpeg 1)
Should you choose to have your duplications expedited, we can
ship them to you using a well-recognized common carrier.
Editing
We use non-linear editing for your projects. Using this type of
system, our editing tolerances can be within 1/60 of a second.
Also, we can adjust the white balance of your images as well
as color correct.
Our non-linear lets us maintain the quality of the original
across all generations of editing and reproduction, yet leave
the original unaltered.
Computer-Generated Text
Using a non-linear system we have the capability of inserting
any identifying text onto your video.
Video / Text Synchronization
Video
conversion is the process of taking video tapes (VHS,
SVHS, Mini DV, and converting them to industry standard MPEG
files for use on your computer. Converted video is normally
stored on CD, DVD or hard drive.
Text Synchronization is the process of
aligning the digital video converted from tape to the court
reporters ASCII transcript. When a digital video file is
synchronized to the transcript one can instantly specify a
particular video clip simply by inputting a page and line number
from the transcript and/or 'cue' or jump to a specific portion
of a video deposition by simply referencing a page and line
number of text within a transcript.
Settlement Brochures
A settlement brochure is a concise summation
of a case, usually produced on behalf of a
plaintiff. The objective of a settlement
documentary is to get the defense and insurance
company to fully comprehend the pain and
suffering that results from their negligence,
malpractice, or product liability and is
presented during a settlement conference or
mediation.
A settlement brochure may use many visual
elements documenting a plaintiff's life,
including home videos and still photographs.
Through the editing process, a dynamic
presentation can be produced that will depict
the victim’s physical and mental condition prior
to the injury.
This form of video presentation can create a
timeline of the victim's quality of life. It can
include photos, images, and any interaction with
family or friends... all the elements that show
a previous condition of health and physical
well-being. It can then show the victim's
change of lifestyle after the accident.
